Bars of Black and White is a very original Room Escape game developed by Gregory Weir.

“You canâ€™t remember the last time you left your room. When you receive a barcode reader in the mail, you discover that the world around you is not what it seems, and must escape the bars of black and white.

Interesting game. Only – paranoid people shouldn’t play it ;-)
As for the navigation:
Yes, it’s different in that is kind of a 3d navigation.There are basically two things you can do to move:
1) Rotate your view by 90Â° = the left/right arrows you see
2) Step forward/backward = the up/down arrows
In addition, you sometimes can take a closer look at interesting things.
Maybe this helps if you are confused at first :-)

Well I made it out but only got 29 out of 30 bar codes scanned. There was one on the wall that I kept trying to scan, but it never registered.

Walkthrough.
Show

1. go over to the pc the code on the post-it note reveals the code and click the circles in that order (red, green, dark blue, light blue, pink & yellow)
2. now go to the front door and pick up the scanner.
3. turn right into the bathroom look around to find the pills on a shelf.
4. leave the room and claim the bat opposite in the wardrobe.
5. move into the living room click the lampshade to turn it to reflect a barcode onto the wall *scan barcode* move slowly left to right over it (if done correctly message appears at the bottom of the screen after every succesful scan).
6. continue to *scan these codes* in the living room. Cereal box, 2 magazines, railings on the ‘white house’ poster, bean & soup cans, back of mans neck on poster & zebra stripes on poster. 8 in total.
7. now move over to the lamp again and use the bat retrieved earlier from the wardrobe on the wall to break through into a secret room.
8. go through and look to the right and scan the circus tent on the poster.
9. turn around and go down the hallway turning left at the end you find a casette player examine it and retrieve the double d batteries from the side.
10. turn around and walk to the end of the hallway finding the electric knife place the double d batteries into the knife to retrieve it.
11. turn left and *scan code* on billboard.
12. turn around and walk into the room with the big trianle on the wall similar to the one on the pc.
13. turn left and feed the spider the pills you collected earlier from the bathroom to retrieve the key.
14. turn around and *scan the 2 codes* on the wall.
15. turn left and click the circles surrounding the triangles in the same order as before on the pc (without colors to help i’m afraid)
16. use the key to open the middle.
17. use the knife to cut open the square to retrieve the key.
18. YAY! now you can go back to the front door in the ‘fake’ apartment and use the key in the door.
19. you’re out the room !!! quick turn right and walk down the hall not forgetting to *scan all the codes on each walls* 16 in total.
20. finally on the ending screen *scan the barcode* to reveal it saying ‘the end’

first you go to the pc and click red green blue light blue pink and yellow in order.
second you will hear a noise from behind it is the scanner get it and read the letter to know how to use it.
third turn right after you read the instructions into the bathroom and get the pill on the shelf and go back and you will see a baseball bat.
third scan all these lamp,zebra,persons head,cans,magazines,cereal and i hope i didn’t forget something =))
forth after you did all that go to the lamp and bash the wall with the baseball bat and you will go to a secret room then scan what you see around you.
fifth go straight and turn around you will see a radio or a (recorder) whatever you call it,get the batteries of it then turn around you will see a chain saw or (elecric knife) whatever you prepare to call it.
sixth put the batteries in the chainsaw and turn left and scan whatever you see in the area and turn right and left you will see a spider, give the spider the pills and get the key.
seventh look at the triangle like the one on the pc.press the colours that you pressed in the pc (no colours to help i supposed) but ill help you 1 top 2 left corner 3 right corner 4 left middle 5 down and finally 6 right middle.
eight put the key you got in then cut the box with the electric knife then get the key YEHEY!!!! you got it.
ninth go back to your fake apartment then insert the key in the locked door then turn right.
tenth go through the corridor without forgetting to scan all barcodes 16 in total then scan the last barcode and it will say the end.

i finished it! but i didnt get all 30 barcodes… i know its the ones on the walls b4 you finish the game, but it doesnt scan… is there a different ending if you get all 30?

just retried game without getting all barcodes and the end is the same…
I realy want to know whats behind the three doors near the end?

use your pills on the spider and it kill s it then you can get the key=D.

There are so many explanations of what happened, your part of a resistance using bar codes to communicate because only you posses the technology to understand them, and using this method the man your up against has found a way to capture you making you believe you being outside was inside an apartment and leading you into a small room of which you believed was outside. Or you could be a physco obsessed with bar codes and it eventually led you to an asylum. Any other ideas?
