The Alpha Room

In The Alpha Room, a Room Escape game developed by Alex Welburn, “you wake up in a room with no memory of how you got there. The door is locked and there is no obvious way to escape. Use your skills and knowledge to find a way to get out before the person who trapped you returns!” Have fun!

   Blue Key (behind shape poster)
   Hammer (right side of closet, with just that door open, while facing TV)
   Hook (smash vase on bookshelf with hammer)
   Red key (in green box on bookshelf)
   Screwdriver (in bottom dresser drawer from closet-wall-view side)
   Paintbrush (left side of closet, with left open, right closed and facing fan wall)
   Stick (bottom of closet - need screwdriver, select hook while picking up stick)
   Fan button (box on top of closet with hook-on-stick while facing TV)

    I am stuck too. Where is the key to open the dresser to get the screwdriver? I have the red and blue keys, hammer, green book, hook and paintbrush. I see a paintcan but cannot do anything with it. Help please! LOL

    Walkthrough

    Show

    -Click on bottom left corner of rug and get TOKEN #1

    Show

    -Zoom into garbage can. get TOKEN #2. Now zoom out and directly under the bin in a spectacular pixel hunt. Get TOKEN #3.

    -Note the frowny face poster. Zoom into the TV and click the right hand button to turn it on. Notice that the TV screen shows a smiley face. Btw, unless you want your ears to bleed from the repetitive music, turn the TV off again as you’ve gotten what you need from it.

    Go Left. Open the side of the cabinet that doesn’t have a keyhole. Now click on the lower lefthand side of the cabinet and you’ll zoom into a clue. It varies every game but it gives the position and color of part of the green box code. Zoom out.

    Go Left again. Get the “Little Green Book” which is full of clues. There are clues on pages 1, 2, 5, and 6. The lizard on page 4 is cute but doesn’t mean anything. On page 7 it says “The End”However it isn’t the end. Keep flipping pages and you’ll get TOKEN #4

    Go Right twice and get the Hammer from the closet.

    Go Left and zoom into behind the TV stand. Use the Hammer to pry the nail out of the wall. Get TOKEN #5. Also there’s another Green Box clue here.

    Zoom out and go Right once. Get TOKEN #6 from under the pillow. Go Right again and look out the window. Notice the blinking light in the window of the building nearby. Click on it to get TOKEN #7. Zoom out.

    Now it’s time to be destructive. Whack the vase several times to smash it into thousands of tiny pieces. Get hook.
    [spoiler]Go Right and zoom in to get a close-up of the Shapes Poster. To remove it, follow the instructions in Post #50

    You should now have the Blue Key. Use it on the locked part of the closet. Once the lefthand door is open, close the righthand door. Now go left and get the Paintbrush from the top shelf of the cabinet on the Lefthand side

    Go back to the first view and turn off the light switch. Go Right and notice the X on the LOST poster. Turn the light back on, Zoom into the Lost Poster and click on the Tall guy’s head under the “L” and get TOKEN #8

    Go back to the view with the Window and Bookshelf. Zoom in on the Green Box on the bottom right Part of the bookshelf and follow the clues that were given to you Behind the Closet, Behind the TV stand, and in the Green Book. They are different each game.

    Mine were

    the sun was very Yellow on the Third day

    Hence it’s Yellow, Brown, Yellow. Once again, yours may be different.

    As for the fourth slot, you have to use brute force as far as I know. You have the clues for the first three. Just keep going through colors on the fourth one until you get it right. Get Red Key from box. (after removing the lid)

    Use Red Key on Brown Box on the bottom left part of the shelf. Get TOKEN #9.

    Go Right once and use Red Key on bottom drawer of TV stand. The TV stand has to be on the righthand side of the screen in order for this to work. Get Screwdriver.

    Use screwdriver to open the bottom compartment of the closet while keeping the concept of perspective in mind. Combine the hook with what’s inside to get Extended Hook

    Return to the view where you’re facing the Lost poster and click under the righthand side of the bed. You’ll see a clue for what’s coming up in a second.

    Now it’s time to repaint this Emo-inspired poster. Get the Yellow Paint from the middle door of the TV stand (TV stand needs to be on the righthand side of screen) and use the paintbrush on it after undoing the lid with the screwdriver. Click on the poster to paint over the frown. Repeat these steps with the Black paint which is located in the lefthand side of the cabinet. (cabinet needs to be on righthand side of screen). Click on the poster again. You now have a much more cheerful poster.

    Click on the poster. Hey, look a safe! Zoom into the safe and remember the clue under the bed. The positions written there correspond with here. Get Token #10.

    Now it’s time to start getting out of this god forsaken room!

    Not the clue in the safe. Thre’s some shaded circles and some squares. The circles note the number and the squares indicate the order you’re supposed to key the numbers in.(For example, 6 circles with the first square shaded means that the first number is 6. BTW, if there are no circles then the the number is “0″)

    There are three more in the following areas:

    Inside fan. (Get the fan button from on top of the closet using the extended hook. And then use it on the fan. Click the button to turn the fan on. Zoom out and go Right to view it.)

    Inside book on page 3. Turn the lights off to see it.

    Under the bed when you’re facing the window. Use extended hook on box.

    Now keeping the positions indicated on the cards in mind, go over to the keypad, put your tokens in the keypad, key in the numbers.

    You’re out!

    it might be a “new” idea that you are only able to do several things when you have a certain perspective, but I found it quite annoying - e.g. the open/close actions on the cupboard. not my idea of logic……(not to mention fun!;))

    Hence it’s Black, Red, Blue, Black. However, yours are probably different.

    I am in the middle of making “The beta room” so will have to post when it is finished. will be another couple of months though i suspect sadly :(
