Sudoku is the name for a maddeningly addictive Japanese number logic puzzle which has become a bona fide craze in the United States during the past twelve months. The rules are simple. There is a nine-by-nine grid composed of nine three-by-three boxes.
Some numbers are already filled in to a few of the 81 squares.
The goal is to fill in all the squares so that each row, column and box contains the numbers 1 through 9 only once.
Gideon Greenspan and Rachel Lee have created Websudoku, a website that is capable of generating billions of puzzles, with three different levels of difficulty, from easy to hard !
If you like Sudoku, just go and have fun!
I do get tired of people calling Sudoku a “Japanese puzzle”… it was actually invented by a European mathematician, a couple of hundred years ago. The only thing the Japanese came up with was putting it into the newspaper a la crossword puzzles.
