OrangeOrangeOrange is a nice little Shooter without any instructions, created by Case Hollingsworth, who won the Armor Gaming Challenge #4 with the previously reviewed Red.

Just like in Red, you won’t have to destroy anything in Orange: your goal here is simply to push the large dark orb off the playfield and all the other enemies as well by shooting them.

Use your mouse to control your orange dot and click to fire at the closest enemy. Try to shoot at the power ups to upgrade your weapon for a few seconds.

Simple and elegant, Orange is really nicely done. That being said, the difficulty increases quickly and with no high score board, chances are you probably won’t replay it very often.

Have fun!

Interesting little game and the fact that there are not instructions does not diminish the experience at all. In fact, in my opinion it actually enhances the game because one has to work it out for themselves and have to do so quicky or else be killed off in a very short time.
I do have one complaint and one suggestion for the creator.
My complaint: when you have driven the target from the screen and the next task opens the shooter is extremely vulnerable as it is flashing and unable to shoot to protect itself. This of course happens if you mistakenly touch one of the targets but it should not happen at the start of a new screen/task because it is almost assured that you will be touched by one of your opponents and lose another life and without a means of defense it is a bit unfair.
My suggestion:it would be much better if you could simply press the left mouse and shoot repeatedly rather than having to press the mouse each and every time to shoot. This gets very tiresome very quickly and one can’t play for too long before you have worn out your “trigger finger”. This may be why it’s not getting a huge amount of play because it is difficult to keep contiually clicking the mouse for each shot.
If you don’t want to make it too easy by offering a repeating shooter that is automatic, then make it one of the power ups that you claim and then at least for a few seconds you can “rest”. But I think this game is difficult enough and a repeating shooter would not give to much advantage to the player. It doesn’t in “Red” so why not here.
Thanks again for having such a creative mind and I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.
