ok, Show

when you click the painting after it has fallen, the back has 23222 and the word open on it. I assume this applies to the boxes with the numbers on it. So far I’ve tried every possible combination of four 2’s and one 3 with no luck. I’m getting the feeling that this is going to be a pixel hunter

You type 2 9 4 X for the grey code and you choose N for the X. Then you choose E for the 4, then P for the 9 and “o” for the 2. and open is written.

guess the clue for one of the safes has something to do with the info behind the painting… 2, 2squared (4), 2 cubed (8)… but not sure how to get the final number, since both safes have 4 digits… any hints?

when you Show

make the picture fall, there appear to be 6 cd’s. Click around the bottom left of these and you will find a key. This opens the cabinet. Then you find some type of magic glue

Once you Show

get the painting down, click the top edge to the left of the volcano. The painting will turn around and show a (rather cryptic) clue. It’s for the wall safe.

On the wall safe, notice that the Show

second digit only changes if the first digit is 2, the third digit only changes if the second digit is 4, and the last digit only changes if the third digit is 8. Combine this with the “clue” from the picture and some experimentation to get the safe to display the letters “open”, and then it’ll open. (First you set it to 2480, then you cycle through the last digit twice to get to n, then you change the third digit to e, and so on.)

This gets you a Show

ruler, which allows you to open the top drawer on the green cabinet and get a vaguely key-like object. Use it on the blue circle things behind where the picture was to reveal a key in the bottom middle one, which you can’t reach.

Now you need the Show

wire, which you get by turning the picture several times. Then do “about item” on it and click on it to bend it into a hook, and now you can get the key.

This opens Show

the doors on the green cabinet, where you’ll find a projector, and above it a slide.

I’ve put the Show

projector on the table, and the slide in the projector, and turned it on, and turned the lights off, and looked at the wall by the door. It says “PUSH” and an X underneath.

Now I’m stuck.

I managed to get the wall safe open by first keying in 2 followed by 4 then 8 and you’ll realise for the last number (keep scrolling), you’ll get N. Now go back to the third and scroll around and get E, keep going on till you get OPEN. Tadah, the wall safe should open now.

the item at the green cabinet is actually a slide for a projector which I managed to find later. Where did you get the magic glue? For me, the key in those CD like thing open up the green cabinet!

magic marker, which you can use to mark the ‘x’ under “PUSH” from the projector.

Ah! There’s another Show

blue slide on the top shelf in the closet. With the other blue slide (from the floor to the left of the green cabinet), it gives a code which opens the safe on the floor. This gets you a green key, which looks like the door keys from other games in this series, but it doesn’t work on the door.

It does, however, work on the Show

X you marked on the wall next to the door…

I managed to get 2 projection slides and I think a combination of both should give me the code to open the other safe but all I get is broken numbers. Help anyone?

the broken numbers from both slides will give you whole digits, draw them out for the first one and then complete the ones from the second slide on top, you’ll get code for safe.

wire which “you get by turning the picture several times”. Do you mean the picture on the floor with the two’s and the three written on the back? I can’t seem to turn it or the two pictures/slides? that I have in my inventory.

I’ve clicked everywhere on the picture but have not seen the wire yet. I’m wondering if I have a different ending because the key in the CD looking things was in the far right lower one, not the center as someone else reported

Jeff, the PUSH thing is from another projector slide. And Mel, my key in the CD thingy is also in the far right lower one. You must make the picture turn a few times in order for the key to drop out. Have you tried that? Oh and you should type: [ spoiler ]whatever you want to type [ /spoiler ]

Walkthrough
Show

Turn right. Click around the bottom left corner of the green cabinet to get a blue slide. Click the bottom left corner of the picture to take it off the wall. Zoom in on its former spot, and click in the bottom left corner to get a pink-and-yellow key. Zoom out. Click the top edge of the picture to the left of the mountain to turn it around. Once you’ve found the right spot, might as well click it a couple of times to get the wire. Leave the picture turned to the pink side, which gives a clue. The position of the words is important: what would it look like if you replaced each word with the number it represents?

Turn twice to the safes. Use the clue from the picture to open the wall safe. The behavior of the numbers reinforces the clue: the second number will only change if the first number is 2, the third number will only change if the second number is 4 (two squared), and the last number will only change if the third number is 8 (two to the third power). Once you have it at 2480, cycle through the last digit twice, and notice that after 9, it becomes ‘n’. Hmm… “open” ends in ‘n’… So leave the last digit at ‘n’, and cycle through the third digit until it becomes ‘e’, and so on until it says ‘open’. Click the handle and get the ruler.

Turn twice. Use the ruler to open the drawer of the green cabinet and get the key/wrench/doohickey. Use it on the blue circles (where the picture used to be) to reveal a key in one of them. (The location changes.) Do “about item” on the wire and bend it into a hook, then use it to retrieve this key. Use it to open the doors on the green cabinet. Get the projector, and the red slide that’s taped to the underside of the drawer above it.

Turn left. Use the pink-and-yellow key to open the closet. Get the magic marker. Click around the right side of the second shelf down to get a second blue slide. Put the projector on the table, and put the red slide in the projector (where it says “film set”). Turn the projector on, and turn the lights off. Turn twice. Do “about item” on the magic marker to uncap it, then use it to mark the ‘x’ on the wall.

View the two blue slides to get the code for the safe on the floor. (It changes.) Use the code to get the green key. Use the key first on the door, then on the ‘x’ you marked on the wall, and you’re out.

question Show

i didn’t even use the key. i just pushed the wall down. but it didn’t tell me if i escaped or not. i’m just outside. does that mean i didn’t finish all the way because i didn’t use the key?
