Exmortis is a very scary Point’n’Click adventure game developed by Ben Leffler. Released in 2004, Exmortis was the first Flash made by the author.
The pitch: “You wake up in the woods with no memory of how you got there. Nightmares of blood and screams still echo through your mind. It’s late and it’s cold – unless you can find shelter fast, you won’t last the night. You spot a house in a clearing up ahead and left with no choice – you decide to shelter there for the night. Soon after you begin to realize that death is a welcome choice compared to what lies waiting for you inside…”

I don’t know if the grandfather clock or the pentagram in the downstairs hall are significant, and I still can’t get into the cellar. I’m sure that’s where the action will take place.

You should be able to go into the cellar after Gwen’s bedroom. The door is no longer being held shut

I think you have to look at the painting on the wall in the dark hallway b4 you can enter the cellar. The one with 1-6 on it.

This is not one the best Exmortis games I have played. I just can’t do anything. Been to Gwens room but still can’t get into cellar….getting fed up.

I have done everything and still cant enter the cellar? any ideas?
im annoyed now done everything i can find and still cant get in the cellar so how are you meant to finish the game?
Anyone else agree it just makes you want to scream?
The cellar door:
after I checked everything what’s possible (USE TABKEY), the left door upstairs (2nd level Hallway) is open, to Gwen’s bedroom. Than after I clicked on the girl there, it gets dark, clicked on the same place and went down again, now the cellardoor is open!!
Than I walked in the underground tunnels (after using axe) and a men killed me. So have to start over. But that’s where I quit the game, didn’t like this game, so didn’t start over. So hope this is enough to help you a little bit more

Made it out of the tunnels and into the woods and the ending makes it worth the trip! By the way, if you have to start over it only takes you back a couple of screens.
how do u enter gwen’s room. Cant figure out the code on the books in library

I’m still thinking if the exmortis stile would be a good horror movie.
just a thought.
I played this game when it first came out, didn’t finish it for months because it was too scary. Now I’ve finished it several times and I still can’t get into the stupid cellar, or find the stupid axe.
I love the second game, though, easier than the first and a better story. agree with lucy11, the exmortis games would make a fantastic horror movie!!
Someone should look into that…
Okay everyone. If you’re stuck at the cellar, what you need to do is go to the attic and click on the symbol that’s next to the torso. If you can’t find it, just tab through the objects in the room.
