The Freewill Cycle – Volume 1

Categories: Flash, Free, Games, Online, Room Escape   17 comments - June 30, 2009

The Freewill Cycle - Volume 1The Freewill Cycle - Volume 1The Freewill Cycle – Volume 1 is the first installment of a new planned Room Escape trilogy, The Freewill Cycle.

Developped by William Buchanan, the game takes place in an unknown place.

“You awake in a room. Could be in a spaceship, could be in a space station, could be just a strange building in East Podunk, Michigan. There’s no way of knowing, because all you can see out of the windows are pretty, pretty moving lights…”

Nicely done, this first chapter suffers from a huge size (30MB!) : as we say in such cases, please be patient while the game is loading!

Have fun!

Z-Rox

Categories: Flash, Free, Games, Online, Puzzle, Walkthrough   44 comments - September 26, 2008

Z-RoxZ-RoxZ-Rox is a nice 1-Dimension puzzle game developed by Marco Arsenault from Canada.

Z-Rox “test your visualization skills over the course of 100 devilishly simple levels. Each one will show you something 2-dimensional—a letter, a number, a shape, a symbol—and your job is simply to name it. But you only get to see a 1-dimensional slice of the picture at a time, as though it were being scanned from top to bottom by a horizontal laser. You must form a complete mental image, based on your view through that 2-pixel-tall moving window. Some answers are a single keyboard character, while others require you to type out a full word” wrote Psychotronic at JayisGames.

Z-Rox features 100 levels and is “extremely brain extensive and hard”!

French-speaking readers (as you all know, I’m a French guy!) – will be pleased to know that Z-Rox is also available in French here!

Can you beat Z-Rox without cheating?

Have fun!

Casual Gameplay Escape

Casual Gameplay EscapeCasual Gameplay EscapeCasual Gameplay Escape is the first Room Escape game sponsored by JayisGames – Edit: Jay mentioned that it was internally developed there, with more games by JIG coming soon :-)

The game was developed by Sean Hawkes.

This is the first game of this type created by the author, and it is quite unusual: “There is no inventory; in fact, there are no objects to collect whatsoever. There are no codes to crack, no hotspots to click around madly for. Instead, what is presented is a series of puzzles—some straightforward, others not so much—that you must solve in order to unlock the door.”

Do you like this one?

El Laberinto Esférico

Categories: Adventure, Flash, Free, Games, Online, Point'n'click, Walkthrough   25 comments - July 28, 2008

El Laberinto EsféricoEl Laberinto EsféricoNacho Rodriguez, the creator of the Mr. Coo animated series has released a Point’n’Click adventure game called El Laberinto Esférico (“The Spherical Labyrinth”).

El Laberinto Esférico features a weird little character, Mr Coo, in a sort of choose your own adventure style.

The game uses a comic book motif to present the various paths the player may take when choosing what to do.

El Laberinto Esférico is very stylish and polished game, but it is short.

Don’t forget to click the English button in the main menu before you press play and remember: if Mr Coo dies, you will start the game from the beginning!

Have fun!

Via Jay.

Note: watch the Mr. Coo series that the game is based on.

Floribular

Categories: Flash, Free, Games, Online, Puzzle   2 comments - June 19, 2008

FloribularFloribularFloribular is the latest puzzle game created by Tonypa, in which your goal is to place a flower on the grid to eliminate as many like-colored flowers as possible. The catch is that matches don’t have to be made by adjacent tiles, they can be three or more flowers in that row or column.

As mentioned by JohnB at Jayisgames, “difficult to describe, but easy to play, Floribular has the uncanny ability to steal your interest and hold on for quite some time.”

If you have some time to kill, check Floribular out!

6 Differences is sponsored by CrazyMonkeyGames and once again, you better get your fingers ready for some serious clicking!

Factory Balls

Categories: Flash, Free, Games, Online, Point'n'click, Puzzle, Video walkthrough, Walkthrough   23 comments - October 4, 2007

Factory BallFactory BallFactory Balls is a new puzzle game created by Bart Bonte and one of the numerous entries to the 4h Casual Gameplay Design Competition run by Jayisgames.

Factory Balls is a series of 14 mini puzzles in which you need to drag and drop a ball over the tools to produce the required ball.

Nicely done, Factory Balls is fun and very enjoyable… while it lasts: the game is not really challenging and is a bit short!

That being said, Factory Balls is an original game and I think a lot of fans would like to see a sequel with more levels and more randomly selected tools.

Have fun!

Rooms

RoomsRooms“One of this year’s Independent Games Festival (IGF) Student Showcase winners, Rooms by HandMadeGame is a clever mix of point-and-click and puzzle elements that together create an engaging game play experience.” (Read the complete review here).

Developed by Kim JongHwa of Seoul, South Korea, Rooms is a very impressive puzzle game, but the first release of the game hosted on one of CasualGameplay servers was a bit buggy.

Jay announced yesterday that the final bug-free version is online and all 14 levels are now playable.

With 21MB to download, expect to wait several minutes before the game starts…

Dyson Telescope Game

Categories: Free, Games, Online, Puzzle   38 comments - October 6, 2006

Telescope GameTelescope GameDyson, the famous UK bagless vacuum cleaner manufacturer, released two years ago an interesting puzzle game on its website.

The goal here is “to get the silver ball into the hole by clicking on the telescopes to make them push or pull the ball across the grid.”

Click a telescope and it will extend. If the ball is in the way the ball will be pushed along by the telescope. The telescopes will always extend to their full length, unless you put something in their way.

If the ball is on the end of an extended telescope you can click on the telescope and it will retract, taking the ball with it.

Just like in golf, each level has a par, or a minimum number of moves to get the ball in the hole.

Until recently, the best levels of the game were not playable online and you had to download and then install them on your computer. Thanks to Dyson’s UK webmaster, the 77 levels are now ALL available directly through your favorite browser!

Designed for gamers from 7 to 77 years old, from the very easy 15 first levels to the crazy 10 Grandmaster levels, Telescope Game features levels for everyone. And for those who want to complete all of them, the good news is that your progress will be automatically saved on your computer, so feel free to leave and come back whenever you want!

Ready for the 15 first levels? Have fun!
