Submachine 6Submachine 6Submachine 6 – The Edge, the sixth installment in one of the most – if not the most, popular Room Escape series ever created, is live!

After a long wait of 19 months, this new episode created by Mateusz Skutnik looks just awesome.

Arcadetown, the sponsor, states on their site the Submachine series is famous for mind-bending puzzles and incredible graphics and fantastical locations, and Submachine 6 is no exception. Mateusz style is unique and each new episode gains in quality as the developer skills improve: Submachine 5 – The Root is no exception!”

Visually and esthetically, it’s even better, and Skutnik masters his art. Some players complained that it’s too easy, but all in all, this new episode is just great! Highly recommended!

Have fun!

Covert FrontCover Front 3: Night in ZurichCovert Front Episode 3: Night In Zurich is live!

Covert Front is a Point’n’Click “spy” series created by Mateusz Skutnik that takes place “in 1904, but in a different reality-line, where the First World War has already begun due to earlier technical revolution that took place in the mid 19th century.

In Covert Front, you are an agent code-named Kara and your mission is to investigate the disappearance of General Karl von Toten.

The game is divided into four equal parts, all being chapters of the same story.”

In this third episode, “our top secret agent Kara finds herself in a train station in Zurich with new orders – to apprehend the mysterious scientist Karl von Toten. But who is that watching her from across the station? Kara will have to use all of her cunning to bring in the rogue scientist and avoid meeting a grim end herself.”

I’m sure Cover Front fans won’t miss this one!

Automaton – Episode 1

Categories: Adventure, Flash, Free, Games, Online, Point'n'click   11 comments - May 9, 2007

Automaton Episode 1Automaton Episode 1After the beautiful Introduction released last February, all Point’n’Click fans will be pleased to learn that Automaton is back in this first episode sponsored by Arcade Town. Here a short description of the game:

“Automaton is the first episode in an epic adventure set in a futuristic kingdom. A noble professor with a guilty conscience has created you to bring peace to the world and overthrow the iron-fisted rule of the King.

Using your limited psychokinetic powers (the ability to move objects at a distance with your mind) you must solve intricate puzzles and help steer the professor to safety…and in the process, learn the destiny of the Automaton!”

I didn’t have the opportunity to play it yet; all I can tell you is that a walkthrough is already available here!

Virus 2

Categories: Flash, Free, Games, Online, Puzzle   1 comment - October 18, 2006

Virus 2Virus 2Virus 2 is a little Flash puzzler found at Arcadetown in which you have to grow a virus to fill the playfield made of hexagonal cells in a limited turns.

You start from the left bottom cell. Use your mouse to select a color at the bottom of the game window: this will change the color of your virus and assimilate all the adjacent cells with the same color.

35 turns are available to complete the first level, 34 turns for the second one, 33 for the third one and so on.

If you shouldn’t have any problem with the first levels, higher levels need more concentration and are very difficult to complete in 25 turns or less. I read somewhere on Arcadetown that “assimilating the cells close to you isn’t as important as spreading fast horizontally and vertically”: it sounds like a good advice!

With a nice and simple concept, Virus 2 should keep you busy for 15-30 minutes. Have fun!

Gold Miner

Categories: Arcade, Flash, Free, Games, Online   2 comments - June 20, 2006

Gold MinerGold MinerGold Miner is a little Flash game released two years ago and another easy to learn and tricky to play addicting game.

In Gold Miner, your avatar is a greedy… gold miner who will use his claw and reel to mine gold and other treasures out of the earth. Your claw doesn’t stop swinging back and forth. Press the down arrow key to stop the claw from swinging and start lowering it.

Heavy objects like rocks and large gold nuggets are hard to reel up. The bigger the gold nuggets are, the more valuable they are. Avoid rocks if possible as they are almost valueless. Bags contain a random amount of money, a strength power-up or a stick of dynamite. Each level provides a target amount of money that you must collect within 60 seconds. If you don’t meet the goal by the end of the level, the game is over. Your money carries over from on level to the next one.

Gold Miner was an instant hit when it was released; this is probably why two commercial sequels were launched last year, Gold Miner Second Edition and Gold Miner Vegas with improved graphics and more power-ups.

If you haven’t already played Gold Miner, you should really give it a try.

Have fun!
