CDX is a brand new Point’n’Click adventure game developed by the UK studio Preloaded.
“A sacrificial blade forged at the birth of the Roman Empire holds the key to an ancient and bloody conspiracy that threatens to erupt into the present day.
Stranded in 21st century Tunis, Adam Foster is plunged into a world of greed, betrayal and murder, centered on a Roman blade he supplied to the BBC’s ‘Ancient Rome’ series. But who has the blade and can the killers be stopped?â€.
That’s how the story starts. The first of four episodes was released yesterday on www.bbc.co.uk/history/ and the others should follow soon. You will have to give your email to get a secret code to save your progress and being informed of the date of release of the next episodes (you can also play as a guest, but you won’t be able to same the game).
What caught my attention and got me excited about this game is the unique interactive-video interface used in this game. CDX is closer to a movie than a game, with real actors (Mark Letheren is Adam) playing the characters involved in this mysterious adventure.
Note that a broadband connection is essential to play this game and that “young viewers may find some scenes disturbing”. Some of you will probably find this first episode far too short, but that being said, CDX is a truly amazing experience and a must try! Have fun!
Update: in order to be able to play this game you must launch the application from a UK-based computer! So bad for the rest of the World! Sounds crazy, no?

i need help to call Liz! everytime i click reply on the email that Tony sent back Adam says “i better persuade Liz to help me out….That isnt going to be easy” Then I go to the phone to call Liz but the operator keeps telling me that the line is out of service!! i get to the churches, but i can’t seem to get the third one done. can i skip this part,or do i just need to know the trick to it

You click the hand and drag your cursor forward up to the top of the case. There should be an arrow from your hand to the case, to which you let go of the cursor and it should get it.
I have finally completed Chapter 4, the maze is not so difficult if you follow walkthroughs above. Thanks to all that provided them.

To get pass the interrogation, you have to answer all the questions truthfully except when they are asking about the blade and if your boss appreciates you or not
it is not the end of episode one keep moving your cursor around and when a hand comes up click and it continues

What to do when waiting….and you think you should call Liz, but it tells you that the number is disconnected, and there is no new number…..Check your e-mail box, print all attachments, and reply to all emails that it will let you reply to….password for the website requiring one, other than the previous bs picture of the blade you already have seen before is (Abraxas), NOT (/Abraxas)…..the “A” must be capitalized if I remember correctly….otherwise, no worries, it will let you retry the password as many times as you like…:) Also, give the widow of the deceased a call (AGAIN), this prompted something, but I do not recall what….

Okay, I keep dying in the interrogation part. I hate to admit I need help for this one, but I do. I am truthful about everything about questions directly about the blade. I tried lying about my knowledge of Omar, but that didn’t work. Is there something about the timing of which you reply? I tried to bluff as soon as I see the option bar for “Bluff”. Make them think the answer is natural and that I don’t have time to think up a lie, but that doesn’t work. It seems to me like either way, the thugs are going to kill me no matter what because I am a witness to a very bad beating. Why would they leave me alive even if they are convinced I don’t have knowledge of the blade? Should I pretend to be ignorant of Omar and the Sofetim or however it’s spelled?
Thanks for the help. Just wade through the interrogation part, answer truthfully to all questions except one about the blade and be careful when the scary Jonathan Pryce-like dude asks you when if your boss appreciates you finding the blade. Bluff when he asks you, “You’re bosss doesn’t appreciate you.” Also, the drive through Rome, with Lix on her moped, try to plan ahead when turning the arrows, and studying the map. Get to the closest church near to the beginning and then the nearest until then. It may take a few tries, but you’ll get it. By the way, for stuff and giggles, the hero reminds me of Giovanni Ribisi, only with an English accent.

i’ve finished with the three churches went to san clemente liz took the picture i emailed tony and then well everything seems to be done and i’m stuck? nothing seems to be happening here and i don’t know what to do next…

the interrogation part is tough, but you can also survive while telling the truth when he askes if your boss appreciates you :P You just have to be honest accept when they ask you if you have it or where you have it… when you got beaten up right after the bald guy gets some kind of “scratch”tool, you probably going to die… when you get beaten up a couple of questions later (about 10 ,15 questions, your on the good way :P just dont get beaten up when you status bar is red, one more hit and you’re dead.. as i noticed many times haha
now i have a problem.. i read a few emails en send some, but now the game is buffering :(… for about 10 minutes now.. is this normal??

about your problem bro .. You have to search for something to tell Liz about ,, read the message again(or check the little note beside his laptop) and you will find that he must know something to tell liz . the names of the curch .,. the red book ,, at the A to Z directory . choose the letter S and start turning the pages till he speaks . then you will be able to call liz .. the name of the tow churches

about the picture she sent to you .. you have to find out what was written in latin ,, (it will be the new christian revolts who did that ) anyway ,, you will email the photo to anthony and he will decode it ,, and he will give you a guide to decode anything next with your own .
if the problem still ,, keep receiving emails and reply what you didn’t reply .

I’m in Episode 3 right now: I’m done with the Interrogation. I recieved an e-mail from Liz where she tells me she’s gonna call me back.
I’ve replied to every e-mail, printed every attachment, called Kenny & Liz and everytime it says that the number is disconnected.
Just for the heck of it… I went ahead and turned every page in the 2 books. No response at all.
I was enjoying this game thoroughly till now, but seems like…. there’s either a glitch or there’s something small that I’m missing.
Someone please help… I’m just stuck in front of my laptop feeling helpless to finish this game… :(
