   Walkthrough

   Show

   You start out facing a window with a table in front of it. On the table is a pretty lamp, as well as a book that’s chock-full of clues. Look through them all, but they’re not likely to make much sense just yet.

   Under the table is a panel that seems to have buttons which aren’t active yet, or something.

   Turn left. There’s a wobbly picture frame with no picture in it. Underneath is a cabinet. The left door requires a three-digit code which we don’t know yet (something connected with a star, maybe?). The right door also requires a three-digit code, but this one doesn’t need a clue, just some math.

   Go ahead, figure it out. This one’s easy, trust me.

   Oh, come on. Even if you brute force it, it won’t take long to figure it out. The middle digit is one more than the first digit, the third digit is two more than the middle digit, and the three digits add up to 10. So try it starting with 1, then if that doesn’t work, try it with 2…

   (For the truly math-impaired, the solution is 235. But you should be ashamed of yourself.)

   Get the moon ball and turn left.

   There’s something in the grating up above, but we can’t reach it. There’s a picture of a gecko on the wall. The left door of the small cabinet wants a code having to do with leaves. The right door has something to do with the cup of coffee, but we can’t seem to do anything with the coffee. You can also look under the cabinet, but there’s nothing there.

   Turn left. The keypad next to the door has a switch, and nine buttons that can be black or white. There’s also a panel on the wall. Some of these puzzles seem like we should be able to solve them; time to look at that book again.

   Page 1 says something about leaves. Where else have we seen leaves like this? That’s right, the lamp, as well as the left door of the small cabinet. Take a closer look at the lamp, and notice how the leaves alternate. The book says to go from larger to smaller, so the code is RLLRLLRL.

   This gets you a creamer. Well, there’s only one place that could be useful. My, what strange cream this is: as well as making the coffee more palatable, it also gives us the other code for the small cabinet.

   A part of something, huh? We’ve seen something like this already. Take a closer look at that panel under the table. Make the part match the panel, then put it in place. (Turn the part on its side and raise the 1st, 3rd, 4th, and last buttons.)

   More math, yay! This one is a little more complicated, but only a little. Draw yourself a little number line if you need to, and turn the equations around so all the inequalities are pointing the same way. Combine the 2nd line with the 4th: 5 > D > B > 2. Well, there are only two numbers between 2 and 5, so B = 3, D = 4. That means C = D + 3 = 7, and since A is greater than C but less than 9, that means it must be 8. So the code is 8374.

   Hmm, it’s a candlestick. The book says you need to put a ball on it. You have a ball; try it. OK, wonder what that did.

   Ooh, it’s nighttime. And we have not one but *two* codes: the tic-tac-toe one in the lamp, and a 763 with a star under it. There’s also a flying gecko; not sure what to make of that yet.

   Turn to the cabinet under the picture frame. Oh, wait, it’s no longer a blank frame, there’s a picture in it! Make a note of the picture, then go ahead and enter the star code. This gets you that flower mentioned in the book.

   Turn to the keypad next to the door. As the third page of the book explains, putting in the circle code opens the door, and putting in the non-circle code opens the panel on the wall. So, first, make sure the switch on top is set to the circle side, then press the buttons that correspond to circles in the tic-tac-toe grid (1358 using phone-style numbering). Next, flip the switch to the other side, and press the buttons that *aren’t* circled (24679).

   Collect the sun ball from the panel you just opened, then go through the door. There’s a small cabinet with a circular dial, which has a green cloverleaf in the middle. You’ve seen a cloverleaf like that already, but there’s nothing you can do here yet.

   Turn right. Get the binoculars from the alcove. Hmm, a flower-like symbol… yup, this is where the flower goes. The book said something about how to get the flower to open, let’s go look at it again. Here it is, page 5: moon, then sun should get the flower to bloom. Go replace the moon ball with the sun ball in the candlestick under the table.

   Ah, what a pretty view out the window! Hm, maybe the binoculars will let us see more. Well, OK, that wasn’t *quite* what I had in mind, but it’ll do… remember the fourth page of the book? Combine that with what you see in the binoculars, then go take a look at that wobbly picture frame.

   Wait a second, I could’ve sworn the clovers had a different number of leaves before. Switch the balls around if needed to make sure: ayup, if it’s nighttime, they’re three-leaf clovers, but if it’s daytime, they’re four-leaf clovers. Huh. Well, anyway, time to wobble the frame. (Top right, bottom left, bottom left, top left, bottom right.) A net? What the heck am I supposed to do with a net?

   Before we get too much farther along, let’s go see if that flower has opened. If it hasn’t, look at the door to make sure the sun is shining in, then look at the flower again. “Clock hand, 1/2”. Well, OK, so we need another clock hand. This is the daytime one, maybe we need to put the moon ball in to get the nighttime one?

   So, there’s the tic-tac-toe code again, and the 763 which we’ve already used… oh, wait, there’s also the gecko. And this time, we have a net. One not-flown gecko, coming right up. And we know just where to use it, too, because that wall is so handily labeled.

   Why, thank you, gecko dear, that clock hand was just what I needed. So, now that we have both hands, we can go put them in place – remember that circle with the clover-leaf in the middle, directly across from the first door? Now, what time to set… again, it’s the clovers. (This is page 6 in the book, by the way.) In daytime, there are 8 leaves (2×4), and in nighttime, there are 6 leaves (2×3). Go ahead and put that in, and congrats, you’re out!

   Another very nice Robamimi escape! Only needed the hint once…no, twice…and it was just enough to nudge my brain in the right direction both times. First, I had gone pretty far but then couldn’t get any further so I had to get the Show

   ‘switch off’

   hint, which led me to Show

   flipping the code revealed by the lightbulb.

   Then, right at the end, I had the clock idea figured out but Show

   was only counting one plant’s leaves!

   Again, the hint was enough to make me go, ‘OH! I need to Show

   count ALL the leaves!’

   And that’s why I love Robamimi escapes. :P
