   The clue in the book plus the picture on the wall above the bed tell you the order to put in the balls – red, green, blue, yellow. If you put in the balls one at a time in the given positions, you get 9×9 grids of colors. The red, green, and blue grids all show up in the same place, but the yellow grid is offset to the right. I’ve tried finding overlaps, counting squares, all sorts of things, and there’s no pattern emerging that I can discern. It doesn’t help that I don’t know whether the squares I’m calling pink (white + red) are supposed to be pink, or whether they’re supposed to be purple (red + blue).

   If you disregard any colors that don’t match the current ball, you can see some sideways numbers. For red, just look at anything that’s pink, orange, or red; for green, look at dark and light green; for blue, look at cyan, light blue, and medium blue; and for yellow, look at yellow or light yellow (although there isn’t any light yellow on that particular grid).

   The numbers I can see this way are 5, 8, 9, and 0. I’ve tried all the logical permutations of these numbers, including turning them upside-down (which would make the 9 into a 6, but the rest would stay the same). The door refuses to open.

   These are supposed to be walkthroughs, so I’m going to wait until it’s fixed (and I’ve tried a lot of possibilities, I don’t see how it’s not a bug).

   Hopefully, it will be fixed before I go out tonight. Japan is 13 hours ahead of current Eastern time.

    Well it’s 3:30 PM CST here in Minnesota and I still have 60 squares and rectangles it still makes no sense to me.

    At some point this afternoon, despite driving rain and winds approaching gale force, little people will begin standing on my front porch and demanding chocolate.

    It’s a tradition. Some traditions, like Christmas and CandyFest (otherwise known as Halloween) are enduring. Others, like the one when people take medieval Japanese weaponry and fling it at their friends, have failed to catch on. Though I’m reminded that teenagers still set fires all over Detroit every October 30, and the government is still wasting taxpayer money on the war on leisure suits.

    So I venture out today in search of adventure with a feeling of trepidation. I don’t know what to expect, whose traditions I will encounter. I see the 115th door opening on the Parallellove hallway, and I peek inside.

    There’s a chocolate-covered wallpaper in a room with dark tile flooring. The door closes behind me, as it always does. My rather routine job? Figuring out the four-digit combination that will open the door and release me with enough candy to feed the demands of the wind-blown children of my neighborhood.

    I see a video screen, a hint book and a yellow ball dangling from a string on the ceiling. At this point, because I’m familiar with the last 20-or-so Parallellove rooms, I know pretty much what’s going on.

    These adventures are getting more than a little repetitive. By mentioning that, I’m accusing him of creating very similar adventures. Which means I see the same concepts and object, again and again. Oh, and by the way, the puzzles are a lot (OK, exactly) like the puzzles in past rooms. Just sayin’…

    So… Video screen: No buttons this time, four holes, probably for the yellow ball and other colored balls. Find the balls, find the right order. Got it.

    Hint book: Black scribble. Need eraser. Got it.

    Yellow ball: Need scissors and a chair to stand on. Got it. Move along. Nothing to see here.

    I turn to the right, and to my enormous surprise, I see a bed and a picture frame on the wall.

    The picture frame contains a picture with nine colored squares. The order is: red, white, black on the top row; black, grey, blue on the middle row; yellow, green, white on the bottom row.

    There’s a little voting machine to the right of the bed. Can’t interact with it, but I can look behind it on the left side. There’s the Red Key.

    I look under the bed, right in the middle, and find the red-handled Nippers.

    The bed was made by a marine sergeant, so the sheets aren’t concealing anything. I search the rest of the bed, looking closely at the headboard. There’s a suspicious grey stripe at the bottom of the headboard, but it resists a pick-up attempt, or a hack with the nippers. I feel very teased.

    I turn to the right and see a small cupboard next to a table with three locked drawers. Behind the cupboard, on the left side, I find the Eraser.

    Under the table, on the left side, I see a green ball stapled to the table frame. I use the Nippers to remove the staples. Miraculously, the Green Ball hangs there, suspended, until I grab it. I think it’s haunted.

    There’s a black spot on top of the table. I pick it up. It’s Chocolate. At least I’m told it’s chocolate. It’s a bit sticky, and smells like dust and cat food. But I suppose it’s good enough for the kids, so I store it away in my adventure bag.

    I open up the drawer with the Red Key and find a second block of musty Chocolate and a Crowbar. I try opening the cupboard with the crowbar, but nothing happens.

    Turning to the right, I see a modular bookshelf next to a table. I take a third bar of Chocolate off of the table. I find the Blue Key behind the bookshelf on the left side.

    There’s a tile puzzle box on the table, as always. A picture of a rose. Guess Parallellove has some clip art to play with. At least the clip art changes from week to week. I take the Yellow Key.

    One of the modules of the bookshelf is enclosed. That seems like a target of sorts. I throw a bar of chocolate at it, but succeed only in smearing some black stuff on the surface. The eraser doesn’t help. But I take a hack with the Crowbar, and remove the panel. That gives me a Red Ball.

    Back to the left. I open the drawer with the Yellow Key and find a fourth bar of Chocolate and a pair of Scissors with extremely long arms. Maybe I don’t need a chair after all.

    I open the drawer with the Blue Key and find the fifth and final block of sticky Chocolate and the Blue Ball.

    I move twice to the right, use the long-handled Scissors and take the Yellow Ball. Now it’s time to use the Eraser on the clue book. That gives me a number order of sorts, which has to relate to the colored blocks inside the picture frame.

    1xx, xx3, 42x gives me an order of Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, based on what I wrote down from earlier.

    So I place the balls on the video screen in that order, one at a time. I see colored grids, with what looks like numbers on their sides. The red, pink and orange blocks shown with the red ball form a 5. You see an 8 with the green ball, a 6 or a 9 with the blue ball and a 0 with the yellow ball.

    I try the combination 5890 with the lock, but it doesn’t work. Neither does 5860. I stare at the grids some more. No ideas. A bug, perhaps?

    I come to the realization that I have yet to see a blue-handled screwdriver in this room. I’m sad now.

    After waiting a while, eating all the chocolate myself and getting thoroughly sick, I try the codes again. 5890 now works, the lock opens and I’m able to leave the room.

    I walk home quickly, hoping against hope that Parallellove puts a little more effort into next week’s game. Fewer bugs, a little more variety.

    It was a trap!

    The people at Paralove hate you.

    I think they just set this whole game (scam) up with the bad codes just so you’d get stuck and then have to end up eating the chocolate or die.

    Parallellove should worship at the feet of Anemic. Without his brilliant walkthroughs, I doubt any of us would play their boring, repetitive games. I know I wouldn’t. Thanks again for a fun story, Anemic!
