   There seems to be more than one way out. What I’ve gotten so far (walkthrough):
   1. Show

   Turn right. Click on the chess board, take the brown king. Go to your inventory and examine the king (click on the magnifying glass). Click on the chess piece twice to reveal that it’s actually a key! Close the examine window.

   2. Show

   Turn right again. Read the sign that has lots of small print. The last line of the sign is “a lost decade”. Click on the piano. Use the key to unlock the keyboard. Press space to put it back in your inventory. Click on the piano keys.

   Spell out “a lost decade” with the letters on the keyboard. For letters higher than g, consider that a=h, b=i, c=j, etc. So what you end up typing is: “aeaefdecade”. A hidden door in the piano opens. Take the bullet. Examine the bullet: notice it has a number written on it (this number changes every time you play).

   3. Show

   Turn left, back to the bookshelf view. Click on the cabinet in the bottom left of the bookshelf. Enter the code from the bullet. Take the unloaded gun.

   Examine the gun (click on the magnifying glass near it). Equip the bullet and use it on the gun. The gun is now loaded. Close the examine window.

   4. Show

   Turn left, back to the cabinet/door view. Click on the slot in the bottom half of the door. Equip the gun. Shoot the fire alarm. You escaped!

   Things I have not figured out:
   First screen
   Show

   In the bottom drawer of the cabinet there is a screwdriver. To the left of the cabinet you see a screw, which you can remove with the screwdriver. Also on the left of the cabinet is a number one and a symbol.

   Also, the white framed wall hangings can be rotated.

   One screen to the right:

   In the bookshelf there is a number three and a symbol.

   The locked cabinet at the bottom right of the bookshelf has a letter code.

   Two screens right (or, two screens left):

   The hands of the clock can be moved.

   Three screens to the right (or, one screen to the left):
   Show

   The middle cushion on the couch has a rip under it.

   To the right of the couch, there is a number two and a symbol.

   More finds:

   I guessed the code for the the bottom right of the bookshelf. There are only four options for each of the three letters, so this did not take long. Inside there is a computer with text that make a pattern looking like “V”.

   If the white framed wall hangings are tilted so they look like a “V” (two tilted left, two tilted right), the nook with the key in it opens up. This key opens the locked cabinet below the wall hangings.

   Inside the cabinet is another screw and a box with a 16-key keypad on top. If you click to zoom in, you can use the screwdriver to remove this second screw.

   Now with both screws removed, the “stuck” drawer can be opened. Inside is a paper with a picture of a chess piece (a clue that it’s a key?) and the mystery keypad thing.

   On the very top shelf of the bookshelf (the one with no books) there is a knife. Use the knife to open up the rip in the couch, find the second half of the paper.

   Go back and look at the chess board. Notice where the pawns are in the area indicated by the paper.

   Go to the mystery keypad inside the cabinet. Press down on the keys that correspond to pawns on the chessboard. The pattern looks like this:

   –P-
   —P
   PP–
   —P

   The box opens up. Inside you find a stencil.

   Go to the sign that has lots of small print. Put the stencil over it: read: “To open the hidden chamber on the piano play “decade”.

   Well, phht. There is only one way out.

    correspond to the clock hands. Do them in order to get the codes for the Greek symbol combination.

    Walkthrough:
    Show

    Click slot in door. Notice the fire glass. We need to figure out a way to break the glass to trigger the alarm. Also, notice that the picture frames can be moved. Don’t worry, you can’t knock them down like in some other games.

    Click the cabinet. Notice the middle drawer is stuck. Get the screw driver from the bottom drawer.

    Click to the left of the cabinet. Note the symbol (# 1) (it changes every time). It will automatically be added to your notes for you.

    Back up and turn to the right. Note the chess board and the two combination locks on the book shelf.

    Click the middle row of books to get another symbol (# 3).
    Click the top row of the book shelf to get the knife.

    Turn right again. Note that the piano is locked. Note that you can move the clock hands. Read the note in the frame.

    Turn right to look at the couch. Under the middle cushion, there’s a rip. Use the knife on the rip to get a piece of paper.

    Click to the right of the couch to get the last symbol (# 2).
    Go back to the clock.

    Click the notes box. Move the hands of the clock to correspond with the symbols. You can keep the notes box up while moving the clock hands. Note the symbols that appear when you move the hands into the appropriate spots (they change every game). This is made a bit trickier because the hands aren’t exactly level somehow.

    Once you get all three symbols, use them to open the right lock on the book shelf.
    You’ll get what appears to be a binary code. The 1’s actually correspond to the frames in the first screen (either / \ or |). Again, it changes every game.
    Move the frames to correspond to the 1’s on the computer screen and you’ll get a key to the cabinet door.

    Open the door and note the 16-key pad. Also note another screw. Remove the screw with the screw driver.

    Back up and open the drawer to get another piece of paper.
    Look at the paper to get a clue about looking at the pawns on the chess board. We only care about the middle 4×4 grid. Note the positions of the pawns in the middle grid.

    Also (I’m not sure if there’s a hint for this somewhere) the black (brown) king can be picked up and contains the key to the piano.
    Go back to the locked cabinet. Push the buttons on the key pad that correspond to the positions of the pawns, and you’ll get a stencil.

    Use the stencil on the note about the man’s favorite song. A secret message is revealed: “To open the hidden chamber on the piano, play “decade”.
    Use the chess piece key on the piano to unlock it, then look at the keys. Click the keys to spell out “decade”.

    You’ll get a bullet. Look at the bullet to get the 3-digit combo for the other lock on the bookshelf.
    You’ll get an unloaded gun.
    Look at the gun, then put the bullet into it.
    Shoot the emergency glass in the door, and you’re out!

    i officially hate this game :P
    i cant even start because the room is dark and there is a note on the front of the screen, which i cant exit out of, and i cant turn on the lights!!
    i tried like 6 times to restart the game, and same ending..i give up (:

    I’ve got to say, I really enjoyed this one. Took some thought, and a little serendipity, but I made it without a walkthrough, which is twice in two days. I think I’m getting better at these games.

    mine keeps having the same glitch over and over! the 2nd drawer wont open even after the screw coming out! guess i’ll have to try again tomorrow lol

    I did a lot of finding the clue for something after I’d already opened it through trial-and-error. Other than that, ok game I guess.
