{"id":2610,"date":"2007-10-17T01:10:49","date_gmt":"2007-10-17T08:10:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.freegamesnews.com\/en\/?p=2610"},"modified":"2008-09-11T02:51:50","modified_gmt":"2008-09-11T08:51:50","slug":"school-wars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.freegamesnews.com\/en\/?p=2610","title":{"rendered":"School Wars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"School Wars\" href=\"http:\/\/www.freegamesnews.com\/en\/games\/SchoolWars.html\"><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"right\" title=\"School Wars\" id=\"image2609\" alt=\"School Wars\" src=\"http:\/\/www.freegamesnews.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/10\/school-wars-300.jpg\" \/><\/a><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"left\" title=\"School Wars\" id=\"image2608\" alt=\"School Wars\" src=\"http:\/\/www.freegamesnews.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/10\/school-wars-50.jpg\" \/>After Dice Wars that inspired the very popular multiplayer game <a title=\"kdice\" href=\"http:\/\/www.freegamesnews.com\/en\/?p=957\">kdice<\/a>, here is School Wars, a new real-time strategy game released at <a target=\"_blank\" title=\"www.gamedesign.jp\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gamedesign.jp\/index_en.html\">Gamedesign<\/a> by the Japanese game designer Taro Ito.<\/p>\n<p>After you choose your own school color, your goal here is to annihilate all the others schools students!<\/p>\n<p>The game seems to have no instructions, so here is what I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve deduced so far:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Each school starts the game with three units on its base.<\/li>\n<li>To command a unit, simply click it and then click a target (an enemy unit) or a destination square.<\/li>\n<li>To select multiple units to command, click and drag a box around the units you wish to move.<\/li>\n<li>Try to control as much spade and hearts squares as you can: the more territories you control, the faster you get new units.<\/li>\n<li>Click and drag the rectangle in the small window located in the bottom right corner of the screen to explore the entire map and locate all your enemies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If School Wars is very well done, the game suffers from the same problem as Dice Wars: the AI is terrible and it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s very, very hard to lose against the computer!<\/p>\n<p>That being said, I really enjoyed this single player version while I played it, but because of the AI, the game has no real replay value.
