Steve the Sheriff“Steve the Sheriff is a lighthearted undersea hidden object game with a good mix of inventory puzzles and a variety of mini-games. Fifteen buildings with multiple rooms offer reasonable length, and clever updates to “find the differences” puzzles round out the package. Excellent integration between types of play give the game a fresh feel…

… Gameplay fits the new genre of hidden object combined with point and click adventure. You find objects using a typical Find List, but some go into inventory to be used later. Steve the Sheriff takes this one step further than most recent titles, fully melding the two activities. For example, you may have to find objects to repair a generator so you can turn on the lights – and then, once the lights are on, find more objects on a new Find List for the same scene…

… All in all, Steve the Sheriff a fun game to play, and an impressive accomplishment in integrating several different game styles. Both Hidden Object, with the partial object reveals, and Find the Differences deliver real advances in gameplay. It doesn’t feel new, but it does feel fresh, and players who enjoy these genres can settle in for a highly-entertaining mid length game.”

“In the prosperous city of Neptuneville, Steve The Sheriff upholds the law unlike any other lawmaker in town. However, when there is peace, crime will definitely not stay restless for long and that’s why this law-upholding lobster will have to muster enough courage to stop criminals once again in this hidden object Big Fish Games exclusive.

Steve The Sheriff is the main man in Neptuneville’s police force. He kept the streets safe from criminals for a long time, and people are already used to the security he provides. However, the criminals lurking in the shadows won’t stay still for very long, and in just one night, they struck and stole various items symbolizing the town’s prosperity and image. Steve has to go out and recover all the lost items, and you as the player will have to help him fulfill this quest.

…Steve The Sheriff also has a unique gameplay feature where you can magnify your vision by using the right-click of the mouse. This certainly helps when pixel-finding through the areas, but with the distinguishable items, I find less use for this feature. Not that I find it useless of course…

The story is pretty well-made too but don’t expect a very deep storyline, just your usual detective doing his job, and doing it very well with your help.”

Hidden Mysteries : Buckingham Palace?

Hidden Mysteries : Buckingham Palace“The official residence of Britain’s royal family since 1837, Buckingham Palace has its fair share of secrets and mysteries. The latest seek-and-find adventure from GameMill Entertainment, Hidden Mysteries: Buckingham Palace, puts you on the trail of a long-lost treasure rumoured to exist somewhere among the palace’s 750 rooms.

Of course, you don’t actually explore all 750 rooms of the palace in the game – it’s actually more like a dozen of the palace’s “greatest hits,” including Admiralty Arch, the Royal Mews, the Queen’s Gallery and the Victoria Memorial statue. You’ll visit most of the locations more than once across the game’s 12 chapters as you search each scene for the clues on your list.

Hidden Mysteries: Buckingham Palace shows improvement over its predecessor, Hidden Mysteries: Civil War in a few respects. Graphics are better, and objects aren’t so tiny…

…Basically, Hidden Mysteries: Buckingham Palace is a decent hidden object game with an innovative hint system and some interesting inventory-based puzzles, but it’s a game that could have been even better if a little more thought and effort had gone into storyline, item context, and how items were placed in the scenes.”

“As a sequel to Hidden Mysteries: Civil War, the Hidden Mysteries: Buckingham Palace game presents the same hidden object type of gameplay with a puzzle adventure twist. This time around, you’re off to find information about a long lost history behind the Buckingham Palace walls, and get to learn about its rich history too while on the way.

In Hidden Mysteries: Buckingham Palace, you play as a part of the many visitors touring one of the grandest buildings in the western world. However during your visit, you chanced to stumble upon a mysterious letter concerning hidden treasures by an unknown figure known only through the initials A.M. Trying your luck, your first letter leads you to find one of the eight lost crowned jewels. And since the chain of clues look genuine indeed, you’re off to an adventure trying to collect all the rare gems, while on the way, learning much about the palace’s many secrets too.

…ll of the sceneries are beautifully rendered too. The ambient sounds blend well with all the sceneries and clicks register well on the items you’re aiming to find. One thing I loved most though is the trivia feature on all the palace locations. Playing the game is really one big learning experience, and since you’ll get to play on such a historical place, there’s just so much information crammed in here, proving that great research was done by the developers before making this game public.3
