Mahjongg 3D

Mahjongg 3DMahjongg 3DMahjong (or Mahjongg) is one of the most popular strategy games and a plausible theory suggests that Confucius, the great Chinese philosopher, could have developed the game around 500BC. If Majhong is originally a four players game, a solitaire matching game, Mahjong Solitaire, is available on computers since 1981.

The object with Mahjong Solitaire is to remove all 144 tiles from the play field. There are four of each tile, except for two special tile types, flowers and seasons. Both of these special types have four different tiles each that match with each other. To remove tiles, you must match up like tiles, and they both must be free to slide off the pile to the left or to the right.

You can easily find numerous Mahjong Solitaire versions today on the web: having said that, Mahjongg 3D, developed by Mike Dogan and Mauricio Winges, is definitely one of the best ever released for free.

With 25 different layouts, six sets of tiles and a complete editor to build your own layouts, Mahjongg 3D has almost everything !

Graphics are great and Mahjongg 3D uses dynamic outputs which automatically adjust to the size of the game’s window.

Mahjongg 3D includes a smart speed bonus points system, much more appropriate than the usual countdown provided with matching games, usually leading to some frustration feelings once time is over. The 3D view option is also useful with layouts including hugh piles of tiles and the hint button always helpful when players get stuck…

On the downside, even if music and sounds are nice, they just distract the player. Unfortunately, the music button in the game just turns off the music, so you’ll need to turn off the sound with the computer’s volume control if you just want to relax.

Mahjongg 3D is definitely the kind of flash games we would like to see more often on the web!

Have fun!

SlidonSlidonSlidon is a puzzle game created by Yoshio Ishii, the author of the excellent Hoshi Saga series.

You have to remove pairs of identical tiles in Slidon, which is reminiscent of Mahjong. But unlike in Mahjong, identical tiles must be next to each other to be removed. To do so, you can slide any visible tile horizontally or vertically.

Hold your left mouse button when the pointer is over any tile to select it and then choose the direction to slide the tile. A sliding tile stops when it hits the edge of the board or any other tile.

Each board must be cleared in a limited number of moves to progress to the next stage. The faster your clear the board the higher the bonus points awarded. Don’t forget to use the delete option to get ride of unmatched tiles.

Slidon is a nice puzzler; my only grip is that there are only 10 levels available: the eleventh level is the same as the first one, the twelfth level is the same as the second one, and so on.

That aside, this game is certainly worth playing, at least once.

Connect-itConnect-itConnect-it was released last April at FreeWorldGroup: “Connect-it is a puzzle game similar to Mah Jongg in some ways, but different in others. Your main objective is to remove image block pairs and clear the game board of all blocks before the monkey gets to the top of the vine.

Pairs can only be removed if they have at least one open side and are a maximum of 2 turns away from each other. There is an exception to this rule – if two identical blocks are sitting next to one another, they can be removed without the need for an open side.

Accumulate coins to buy power-ups. The faster you are, the more coins you will get. You’ll need the power-ups for later levels when thing get crazy.”

With its 20 stages, Connect-it is not a very original game but is fast-paced enough to be entertaining, at least for a while!

ShumujongShumujongShumujong is a new multiplayer version of Mahjong developed by Absolutist.

The goal here is to clear the playfield before your opponent does, by selecting two free tiles (or more) that, summed together, give a certain targeted total shown at the top of the game window.

You won’t play Shumujong for hours, but all in all, it’s a fun little diversion for 10-15 minutes.

Play Shumujong at FreeGamesNews now and have fun!

Zip Jong

Categories: Flash, Free, Games, Online, Puzzle    - December 12, 2006

Zip JongZip JongZip Jong is another Mahjong Flash game developed by the Japanese Studio Buddiez Inc.

The object here is to remove all the tiles from the play field. There are four of each tile, and you will have to match up two corresponding tiles to remove them.

The game is timed and the player has around 50 seconds to find a pair of matching tiles. Several buttons are available at the bottom of the game window: you can ask for a hint, undo some moves and shuffle the tiles if there are no more available tiles to match up.

A code level system is implemented in the game to save your progress, so you won’t have to play any level more than once if you want to complete the game (50 levels).

Zip Jong is mostly in Japanese, but it shouldn’t be too hard for you to figure out where is the Play button; overall, Zip Jong is another very nice Mahjong game, specially designed for a young public, and enjoyable by everyone. Have fun!
