Battalion Nemesis is the latest title in the Battalion series created by Urban Squall.
Inspired from the Nintendo’s turn-based strategy game Advance Wars, Battalion Nemesis “encourages riskier and more aggressive tactics.
Many of the units have special bonuses for attacking and recovering from a successful assault is easier with the repair-anywhere system. Naval invasions are as easy as a few clicks, and the result is some really intense battles with the wide array of specialized units.
Actions are quicker, mistakes are less painful, but having a solid tactical plan is still the key to success.
In Nemesis, you follow the plight of Captain Tucker and his Rapid Attack and Response Team as they battle against the traitor General Mullen… but it quickly becomes clear that all is not as it seems.
You’ll control land, sea and air through 11 maps (10 campaigns and one bonus) and 6 Boot Camp training levels for 17 total playable maps.
However, if you don’t want to wade through all the story… just turn off the dialog and enjoy 17 levels of quality strategy gaming action.”
The enemy AI is pretty weak, but the overall presentation is brilliant; the graphics and the animations are gorgeous and the background music fits well with the game.
A multiplayer version, Battalion Arena is in the pipe and should be released in the next few months: in the meantime, check out Battalion Freedom, the current online multiplayer version in the Battalion series!
