Anika’s Odyssey: Land of Taniwha is an enchanting Point’n’Click adventure created by Trickysheep, from New Zealand.

“Break away from reality to enter a mystical world inspired by Aotearoa, New Zealand, as you meet the curious spirits and exotic creatures that inhabit this wondrous wilderness.

Visually, Anika’s Odyssey is incredibly well done and the game has almost everything to become a popular hit, even though it is too short. No doubt there will be a sequel soon!

Overall, a truly excellent game!

   how do i get across the swamp? I’ve pulled on all the vines and see the animals change, but can’t figure it out.

   i cant remember the colours, but if im not wrong… the first one you have to pull is the middle one, then the left one, and finally the right one…

    i pass throw the troll, and go upstairs, fix the machine and cross to the other side… i get into a hole. Now im very close to the eagle nest, but i cant reach it, im next to a wooden door, but every time i opened it a rock falls…. and i cant do anything else…

    ok, this is what i have Show

    before going in the cave to go up the mountain, you can click on the ledge below. she starts to jump down but doesn’t.

    what am i missing?

    i think i have an idea, but i cant figure out how to do it….
    If you stand next to the wagon with rocks and try to go down, she cant do it.

    im thinking maybe we have to put something… and then go up throw the rocks slider!! and get to the nest!

    move the wagon so it is on the bridge. cross over the bridge and pull the lever. it will break and make the bridge go down.

    yeah, now that’s what I’m talking about. A solid, artistic, and really cute point’n’click game that doesn’t frustrate or disappoint. Good story, good gameplay elements, trial-and-error based, what more could you ask? I thought it was exactly the right length, not dragging on too long or ending too soon to be fun.
    By the way, the easiest way to solve the vines part is to Show

    climb up on the mushrooms and see what color the chameleon is, then climb back down and pull the vine with the same color leaves.

    and for the machine,Show

    click on the gears and Anika kicks the machine. the gauge on the upper left will show when the machine is ready to function.

    There’s nothing especially challenging in this game, but that’s part of its charm. It actually makes sense, unlike a lot of these types of games that force you to keep trying random stuff until something finally works. This is, IMO, one of the best point’n’click games to come along. Kudos to trickysheep!

    when you put the car on the bridge and pull the handle, the bridge calaps, then you go up and meet the goat, go into the tunnel, go up and trow a stone, go down and go up the other way
    Get the rabbit and take the fedders,kiss the rock and fly away

    It would be a better ending if you did something wrong and the eagle violently ate the wabbit.

    Walkthrough…
    In the yard
    Show

    Take the bucket to the well. (Wait for rabbit to get stolen.) Get Annika to jump the fence with the help of the bucket.

    At the river
    Show

    Go to the right, and go into the hollow log over the river. Imps appear and spin you around. Peek into the big hole in the tree; wait for one of the imps to follow you. When he’s busy peeking, click his backside; he falls in and the other two come to rescue him. Go through the hollow log now.

    At the swamp
    Show

    Attempt to cross the swamp using the obvious stepping-stones/logs. Go back on shore, notice the vines. Climb up on the mushrooms, note the chameleon. Go back down and yank the vine corresponding to the chameleon’s color. Rinse & repeat until creature is free. Cross swamp with chameleon’s help.

    At the troll
    Show

    Go up and click the bush to gather fruit. Go back down, and click the rock in the water towards the bottom of the screen (*not* the rock you’ve already been on). Click on Annika to make her throw the fruit. Click the troll to scratch his back.

    At the machine
    Show

    Climb the mushroom stairs, go up to the machine. Get Annika to kick the machine (click the gears) until the machine’s indicator shows red. Flip the switch to make the bridge go down. Cross the bridge and push the mine cart to its end. Go back to machine and flip the switch again. Cross the bridge again.

    Mine entrance
    Show

    Go down and find the mine chute/ramp; go up it until the goat appears. Go back down, then up to the mine entrance and go in. At the other end, click the gate to get a rock to roll down. Ooh, dancing goat! :) Go back down, and walk up the ramp again, this time unimpeded.

    Eagle’s nest
    Show

    Get the rabbit and leave the nest. Click the mountain to kiss him; ooh, blushing mountain! :) Get the feathers, then jump off the ledge. Get the bucket, fill it with water. Go to the door and open it.

    Complete Walkthrough

    1.) Show

    Click the water bucket, Anika will sit her white bunny on the wood pile. Then click the water pump, a short scene will play and an eagle will take the bunny

    2.) Show

    Click the bucket and Anika will pick it up. Click the bucket again and she will place it upside down, and use it to jump over the fence. (Touch the fence and get electrocuted)

    3.) Show

    Now move to the right until you see a tree w/ a birds hole and a log that is across the stream.

    4.) Show

    Click on the log and Anika will attempt to cross through the log to the other side of the stream. Three creatures will come across one red, yellow and purple. Once the red creature is on land, click on the hole in the tree so he will follow you to look. He will get stuck, so hit his bottom so he will fall in.

    5.) Show

    The purple and yellow creature will follow, now you can crawl through the fallen log.

    6.) Show

    Now move along until you see a tree w/ eyes and a log in the water. Click on the log to jump on it and then click on the bubbles in the water.

    7.) Show

    A water monster will appear and jump out of the water. He will break the branch that has eyes. Now click on the land behind you and walk back until you see the 3 vines.

    8.) Show

    Pull the vines in this sequence Red, Yellow, Blue. A Blue something will hope on the branch and stick out his tongue, click on the log and then on the creatures tongue. He will pull it back and then fling you to the log on the other side.

    9.) Show

    Now climb up the vine and pick berries from the bush.

    10.) Show

    Now slide down the vine and click on the rock that is closest to the black fishing line.

    11.) Show

    Now click Anika so she will toss the berried into the water. A Giant fish will now emerge from the water, she will jump onto the fish and reach the top where the Giant is.

    12.) Show

    Click the purple stairs and then the blue stairs. Pull the lever on the machine it will malfunction, click the gears Anika will kick it and a gear will fall off continue clicking the gear until the two at the bottom remain. (You can tell the sequence b/c the mouse will turn into a pointer). Now click the lever and the bridge will fall.

    13.) Show

    Walk across the bridge and click the cart full of rocks. Once the cart is on the bridge click farthest to the left so Anika will walk back to the machine. Click the lever again, the bridge will break and fall.

    14.) Show

    Now walk down the bridge and down the stairs. Now click the path to walk up it, a white bison will now block the path.

    15.) Show

    Now go back down the path and up the stairs, once at the very top go into the cave. Click the wooden door and a large rock will roll down the path. Proceed to go back down to the path.

    16.) Show

    Walk to the top of the path, the eagle should be gone from the nest. Click the bunny Anika will take it, click onto the rock so she will leave the nest. The eagle will return and try to attack Anika, she will turn to the mountain and rocks will fall forming a face w/ eyes in the mountain.

    17.) Show

    Click the feathers so she will make wings. Now kiss the mountain face so he will blush, click the nest and she will fly back down to the farm. All that is left is to fill the bucket and bring it back to the door. Someone will pat her on the head and take the bucket, she will flex her wings and the game is complete.

    1.put the bucket on the ground and jump over the fence.2.go to the tree and the red guy will get stuck and the other guys try to help him.3.crawl through the tree trunk on the river.4.this is the order for the vine:middle,right, left.5.swing to the the scene with the troll and go up the hill pick a berry and go on the rock.(the rock you didn’t go on).6.scratch the trolls back and climb the mushroom stairs and come to a machine.7.when you pull the lever the first time kick the machine.do that a couple more times pulling the lever and kicking the machine.7.cross the bridge move the miner cart on it and push the lever and the bridge will break.8.walk on the rock slide and the goat will notice you and step on the rock slide.9.when the rock carries the goat away go up the mountain and get your bunny don’t worry when the crow comes back the mountain will look like eyes and scare the crow away then click on the rock to kiss it for scaring the crow away.10.Finally you put down your bunny and go into the crow’s nest and make some wings,At the end you pick up your bunny and fly home.11.you pick up your bucket go to the water pump pump some water in to the bucket and bring it inside to your mother and walk with your bunny in to the house.
