   IDK what I’m doing… The matches keep burning out and I can’t light the rocket that I got from the t.v. channel!!! I have been throwing the used matches that have burnt out into the toilet so I can keep trying but I can’t light it… IDK if I have all the bullets, though.

   anyone know what is harder though in the other modes? are there more clues to find or just less clickable pixels?

   The big difference between modes is the safe code. Show

   In easy mode, one of the rows of the clue sheet is the code. In medium, the clue sheet has 7 rows, and one of the rows tells you what the numbers are, though not necessarily their order (that is, in one row, bulls + cows equals 6). In hard mode, you only get 5 rows of clues, and none of them tells you all the numbers (i.e. bulls + cows is less then 6 in each row).

   I’ve solved the safe code in hard mode, but now Show

   it won’t let me get to the vent above the bed. I’ve stacked the pillows after much clicking, but it still won’t let me reach the vent. I don’t know if I’ve met a bug, or whether there’s something else I have to do.

   Figured it out: Show

   You need to make those footprints you saw on the bed in medium mode. Start clicking near the foot of the bed until a left footprint appears, then click to the right-middle until a right footprint appears, then click the pillows until there are two footprints on them. If you now click the vent, you’ll be able to look at it.

   So to summarize, the difference between medium mode and hard mode: Show

   – The safe code is (much) harder to figure out based on the clues you’re given.
   – The “more beer” poster is, um, more risque.
   – You have to jump through more hoops to reach the vent above the bed.

    @Reka: to climb the pillows in hard mode Show

    click on the bed until you see 2 footprints, then click the pillows until you see 2 footprints

    Some guidelines for the bulls & cows puzzle in hard mode: Show

    1. Note in particular the lines with the most hits (b+c) and the fewest hits.
    2. Use the total number of hits to guide you into first finding the 6 participating digits.
    3. The largest number of hits that I had was 5, so in that line, one number did not paticipate, and I had to add one extra number. This makes it easier to eliminate some possibilities.
    4. Once you’ve decided which 6 digits you want to check, check first that it is consistent with the line with the fewest hits (I had 2). This is the fastest way to eliminate some possibilities.
    5. After you get 6 digits that match the total number of hits in all lines, start with a line that has the fewest bulls.
    6. You may need to do a pretty exhaustive search.
    7. Sometimes, a wild guess can come out to be true, but it can also lead you on a wrong path.

    To get the paper Show

    out of the wastebasket: try using the fork

    To light the fuse: Show

    light the match, get rid of the matchbox (click the X at the top right) and put your pointing finger on the very end of the fuse

    In hard mode, don’t get distracted by Show

    the poster girl after you’ve opened the safe, or you’ll never want to get out…
