   Complete walkthrough (with many thanks to everyone who helped work out the puzzles).

   Note to self: don’t play a game called “Concertalino” on Bach’s birthday, because no matter how nice the music in the game is, it can’t hold a candle to what’s on the radio. (I would’ve posted this half an hour ago, except they were playing my favorite chorus from the St. Matthew Passion, and there was no way I was gonna ruin that by plinking out a code on the piano.)

   Get the plug adapter from behind the pedals of the piano. Plug the adapter in, then plug the record player into it. Take the green record. (You can listen to the rest, but they won’t help you. Note that your inventory can only contain one record at a time, so to take another record, you have to put back the current one.)

   There’s one book on the bookshelf which you can put in your inventory. Shake the rest until a note falls out of one of them. (I believe it’s one of the books on the third shelf. The book you can take is on the second shelf.) Get the key from behind the small vase (shelf above the piano).

   Go right. Get the screwdriver from under the sofa (you should be able to just see it next to the back leg). Get the first of 12 cards and the whetstone from the stuff on top of the desk. Move the feather from the left inkwell to the right and then get the left inkpot. Open the curtains and get the second card.

   Use your key to open the left side of the desk, get the scissors. Use the scissors to cut the flower off the plant in the window. Close the curtains, cut off a piece from the right side, then open them again. (You might have to sharpen the scissors – grab the scissors and move them back-and-forth across the whetstone. You should hear a scrapey noise.) Use the scissors on the couch cushion to get the third card.

   Go right. Open the wardrobe and get the card (#4) from the shoes. Zoom in on the flower arrangement and get the card (#5) from the middle. Zoom back out.

   Turn off the lights and go right; note the light spot on the floor. Cut that spot with the scissors and get card #6. (You may have to sharpen the scissors quite a bit before this’ll work.) Sharpen some more and cut the piece of carpet off entirely. (Turn on the lights to make it easier to see what you’re doing.) After turning the lights back on, zoom in on the clock and use the screwdriver to get card #7 from the bottom.

   Go left twice and zoom in on the birdcage. Wet the piece of carpet in the bird’s water. Click the mirror until it is turned almost all the way right. Go right and turn off the lights, then go right two more times until you see the illuminated spot on the painting. Use the ink on that spot until you see a number. This is the code for opening the piano. Turn the lights back on, then turn to the piano and zoom in on the lock. Put in the code and zoom back out – the piano should be open. Get card #8 from the right of the keys.

   Now to figure out the safe code: put the green record on to play. Zoom in on the piano keys and figure out what the melody is playing. (Click the piano keys until you find the ones that emit the right sound. Sorry, a sound card is absolutely required for this.) Now this part gets a little tricky if you don’t read music, but everything you need is in the book in your inventory. Open the book. The first page you see is a picture of a keyboard. Note where on your keyboard your melody goes. Turn the page to see what each of the white keys is called. Now turn the page again to see how to write those notes in musical notation. Got it? Now put the book away and look at the piece of paper in your inventory (the one that fell out of a book earlier). Drag the notes to the appropriate places to reproduce your melody. If you do it right, five red question marks will appear at the top. (By this time you’re probably sick and tired of listening to the melody, so go back out and take the record off the record player.) Now look at the book again and turn to the last page. This gives the intervals. The thing to notice is that two notes on the same line is numbered interval 1, not 0. Use this to figure out the intervals in your melody. Basically, count each line and space, but count the line/space you start on as 1, not 0.

   Ok, whew. Turn left to the smudged picture. Use the piece of carpet to scrub it clean (move the carpet back and forth, don’t just click on the picture once – that’ll just cause you to sneeze). Now use the picture and the dates below it to figure out the last name of the composer in the picture. Use the scissor on the bottom left of the picture (where the pointer changes shape) to reveal an input box. Zoom in on it and type in the last name you figured out, then click the middle of the picture. It should slide to the left, revealing the safe. (If it doesn’t, check your spelling – especially if your composer is Tchaikovsky.) Click the input box on the safe and type in the numeric code you figured out, then click the wheel to open the safe. Get card #9, the putty knife, and the black bar thingy (it’s the missing piece of the music stand on the piano).

   Now is as good a time as any to turn to the piano and put the the flowers (remember them?) in the vase above the piano, and the black bar you just found into its slot on the music stand.

   Turn right to the bird & desk. Use the putty knife on the plant in the window to get the second desk key. Use the key to open the right side of the desk. Get card #10 and the bird seed. Zoom in on the bird and put the birdseed in the empty dish on the left. Get card #11 and the stick from the bird’s perch. Zoom out and use the stick to get the violin bow from above the curtain rod. Cover the birdcage with the piece of curtain.

   Turn right. Use the stick to spread the clothes in the wardrobe. Get the note peeking out at the top left. (It says “Ab exterioribus ad interiora”, which is Latin for “from the outside to the inside”.) Zoom in on the second safe. The latin phrase at the top can be loosely translated as “be smarter than a donkey.” :) Look at the figures in the middle: some of them are playing light-gray double basses, while the rest are playing dark-gray saxophones. The outer wheel of the safe is light gray, the inner wheel is dark gray. The number of players of each color gives the number of times to turn the corresponding wheel. You’ll need to figure out what direction to turn the wheels through trial-and-error; the key is to turn them in opposite directions. Per the note you found, you need to read the letters starting with the outside. So, click each wheel the required number of times, and note the two letters (bottom, then top). Repeat until you get to a space. The word you get is the password for the second safe. If it’s utter nonsense, reset the wheels (click them until the treble clef symbol is showing on the bottom), and try turning them in the other direction. You should get the name of an instrument, though it might not be in English. Type it in the space at the bottom, then go back out. The secret door at the back of the closet will open.

   Enter the secret room. Find the spot on the top left where the cursor changes shape and click to turn the lights on. Eeek! A Mouse! Use the scissors on the drum at the left to get the last card (#12). Get the rosin bag from the trumpet at the right (middle shelf, back right corner). Use the scissors to cut open the rosin bag. Drag the cut-open rosin over the violin bow in your inventory – you should hear this annoying noise. Now play each of the violins in the secret room until you hear a crash from outside. (The violins are like the records, you can only have one in your inventory at a time.) To play a violin, click it so it goes in your inventory, then drag the bow over to it. Keep the violin that caused the crash and exit the secret room.

   Go right twice to the piano; notice that the crash was the vase that used to be on top of the bookshelf. Get door key #1 from the shards. Now put all of your cards onto the music stand on the piano. (You have to drag them one by one from your inventory to the music stand.) Click on the music stand and drag the cards around to solve the puzzle. Write down the letters, then play them on the piano (use the book in your inventory to help if you don’t know music). At some point towards the end, you should hear a click; that’s the top of the piano unlocking. Go back out, click the piano to open the top, and get door key #2.

   Use the keys on the two keyholes on the door, listen to the music, and congrats.

   I got the bow after already being in the secret room. So that’s why it’s not working? (get couple notes then that strange annoying repetitive voice in another language). Although the one sounds different, but still no crash

    Anna, are you sure you entered 0765 correctly? That was my code the second time I played, and it worked fine. (Note that you can’t tell if the piano opened if you’re still looking at the lock – you have to back out.)

    OMG….I don’t get the second safe code at all (the wardrobe one)
    How, in the simplest way,do you turn the wheels? Are there any possible word combinations that I can simply try?
    It’s….I feel that I shouldn’t have started playing this game, the first safe code(the piano one) has already killed me since I have no sense for music. I got it after listened to the green record for a thousand times and I ckicked every single key on the piano for a hundred times each.(I prefer puzzle solving)
    And Now I’m going to figure out some kind of latin word!(and English is actually my second language )

    Can someone figure out the code for safe. I know it differs depending on each time you play but I think its the same for each composer. For instance same code for anyone having Beethoven. So if anyone played manytimes they can post code for each coimposer please? I am sure that will help.

    okay, I’m fed up with this game. i figured out the notes on the piano (why must it be such a bad recording???), but the book doesn’t take them. so I tried all the codes I found here and on escapegames24. nothing worked. I never gave up a game before

    Well, I didn’t manage it on my own, but thanks to the help of a lot of peolpe here, I made it. I think they explained it very clearly and once you got it, this game is rather easy imo. No reason for swearing and stuff……

    I had that same code with the composer Chopin. My prob was I didn’t get the bow above the window before I entered the closet so played all violins and nothing happend. But I did get to get key from inside piano. I didn’t know how to play the puzzle in closet but I just kept clicking and has letters sax and code was saxaphone.

    for the wardrobe code the outer circle need to move rt and the inner left. You look at the center pic. the # of base violins would be ex. 5 and saxs 4 so you would click clockwise 5 times with big circle & 4 times counter clockwise with inner circle. write down the letters you see in red triangle. Continue to do this till no more letters in red triangle. I got sax =saxophone. 2nd time I got flouta which I think means flute in latin.

    Ok. I understand how to work the second safe for those of you who are interested.

    what you have to do is begin with the treble cleffs. Now say you have 6 light grey instruments and 4 dark grey instruments. Move the outer wheel 6 spaces. Record the letter you stop at. Move the inner wheel 4 spaces in the opposite direction that you moved the outer wheel. record this letter. Now move the outer wheel another 6 spaces and record the next letter. Do the same for the inner wheel. Just keep going around the wheel recording every 6th and 4th letter until you come to a blank space or the treble cleff. Now doing this in succession you should have a succession of letters that spell out an instrument. whether it’s one you recognize or not is left to be decided but apparently they are instruments. Now, your numbers will probably be different but the idea is the same.

    I hope this helps. let me know if there is anything I can clearify.

    @god, no need to yell. :) Re: “chisel” – I would call the tool a putty knife, but whatever you call it, it’s a semi-flexible thin metal triangle or oblong attached to a handle, which you can use to spread or scrape, for example putty (hence the name).

    @DEB, the safe in the wardrobe starts out at the treble clefs. If you need to reset it, turn each wheel until the treble clef shows in the space at the bottom.

    @Gemmma, which piano part and which safe? :)

    WOW!! To other young gamers also considering themselves intellectuals, this game is great… Even though I used MUCH assistance it was a relief to get to the end. I don’t know much about music other than to listen to it so even the obvious was not really too trasnparent. Good luck!

    Where do you find the scissors? I have 4/12 pieces of paper, a key, a book, the green record, ink(used), a whetstone, a screwdriver, and a piece of paper with notes on it, but i cant seem to find the friggin scissors!

    after you get the resin in the closet and use the bird’s rod to get the violin’s bow from above the window…
    choose the violin on the middle shelf on the right and put the resin on the bow. drag the bow to the violin in your inventory and it will play music and you will hear something like glass breaking.
    go to the screen with the piano and you will see the red vase has fallen, a silver key is lying in the broken pieces….
    that is the other key for the door and you’re out!!)

    @mary’slittlelam: In European musical notation, the note between A and C is called H. What Europeans call a B is what Americans would call a B flat. No, I don’t know why.

    @WonderKitty, the violin to play varies each time you play. It’s not always the one on the middle shelf on the right. (I’ve played four times, and it has never been that violin for me.) See the complete walkthrough at #155.

    @Pauline, what do you mean “nothing happens”? If you’re only getting nonsense out of the wheels, try resetting them and then turning each in the opposite direction you were trying before. If you mean you’re trying to open the door by turning the wheels as if this were a combination padlock, then you’ve misunderstood something: the wheels don’t open the door, they just give you the password. You need to type the password into the field provided, it won’t happen automatically.

    Walkthrough

    1. Get adaptor from behind piano, put it in the socket and connect the plug.
    2. Take green record. Play once, remove and play again. You will hear static and a six-note tune the second time. This is for later.
    3. Bookcase – take book from second shelf down. Shake the last book on the right in the middle shelf until a note drops from one. This is will take a LOT of shaking (like the scissor sharpening later) so perservere.
    4. Click the vase in the middle of the shelf for the first desk key.
    5. Go right, get the screwdriver from under the sofa. Move the quill into the other inkpot and get the one you moved the quill from.
    6. Get the first paper from the desk, open the curtains and get the next.
    7. Use the key in the left drawer, open and get the scissors. Use the scissors on the cushion and get paper 3.
    8. Get the whetstone from the desk and use with the scissors by rubbing the scissors up and down on the stone each time before you use them. This takes a LONG time.
    9. Use scissors on plant and right-hand curtain in the middle to get flowers (still don’t know what they’re for) and cloth. Remeber to sharpen.
    10. Turn right, open the cupboard and get paper 4 from the shoes.
    11. Examine basket of flowers and get paper 5.
    12. Go right. Note dates on the painting. Check wiki or google to see which composer’s dates these are. Different each game.
    13. Open the clock, use the screwdriver on the plate and get paper 6.
    14. Pour ink from pot on the missing corner of the painting back in the piano scene. Got to birdcage and click on the mirror three times. Make sure the curtains are open and go to the light switch. Turn the lights off and go back to the painting with the ink. You will see a code. If it has 3 digits, add a 0 to the front.
    15. Go to piano. Zoom in on keyboard and use the code to open the lid. Take paper 7 from the keyboard.
    16. Play green record and go to piano keyboard. Listen to the tune and copy it by pressing the piano keys. Remeber the notes.
    17. Look in the book. By clicking through the pages, you will learn which notes correspond to which keys (if you know music, this will be easy). When you have learnt to play the tune, worked out the notes and how to write them using musical notation (all the clues are in the book) open the paper that dropped from the book in the bookcase.
    18. Place the six notes in the correct positions. Remember the very low and very ihgh notes can be lower than the bottom E and higher than the top F.
    19. The question marks refer to the intervals between the notes. These can be ascertained from the last page of the book you took from the bookcase. You now have a five-digit number. Remeber this.
    20. Back to dusty painting. Sharpen the scissors A LOT and cut about a quarter of the way from the left-hand side to reveal paper 8. Sharpen scissors again and cut the same place to take a carpet segment. This takes a while so stick at it.
    21. Dip the carpet segment in the water in the birdcage and use this to wipe away the dust from the dusty painting. Hold the left mouse button down as you wipe, let go and repeat until the picture is clear.
    22. Use scissors to cut open the bottom-left hand corner of the painting, zoom in and enter the name of the composer you know from checking the dates in wiki-google. You have to enter the name and then use the left arrow at the bottom of the screen. When you do so you will hear a squeak. Go back and you will see a safe.
    23. Enter the five-digit code from the intervals and turn the wheel. Take paper 9, scraper and black bar.
    24. Right twice and use scraper in plant where you got the flowers to get the key to the right-hand draw of the desk. OPen this and get paper 10 and birdfood.
    25. Zoom in on birdcage, put food in bowl and get paper 11.
    26. Have a break and go for a cigarette. This is what I’m going to do now.
    27. Come back, open a beer and continue with the game.
    28. Take the bar from the bird’s perch and zoom out.
    29. Use bar to get bow from the top of the curtain rod. Go to the cupboard.
    30. Use bar to prop open the clothes and get the hint. Note you don’t need to know what this or the latin phrase coming up is but you can translate if you wish.
    31. Zoom in on the wheel. This bit is a little complicated.
    32. Left click and hold the centre wheel to count the grey and white instruments. Note the amounts and let go of the left mouse button.
    33. Turn the white wheel anticlockwise by the amount of white instruments you see in the middle. Write down the letter in the red segment of the white wheel.
    34. Turn the grey wheel clockwise by the amount of grey instruments you see in the middle. Write down the letter you see.
    35. Repeat the processes until you get to a space then enter the name of the musical instrument in the grey box. Press the left button and watch the cupboard open. Got in to the cupboard.
    36. Light switch is on the top -left hand side.
    37. Use the scissors on the drum to get paper 12. You now have them all. Get the bag from the bugle on the right and use the scissors on it to get the resin (misspelled as rosin). Use the resin on the bow and take a violin (any one).
    38. Go to the piano scene and do not zoom in. Put the black bar on the music holder and then all the 12 papers on the black bar. Zoom in and unscramble the papers to form a score. Zoom out and then back to the piano keyboard to play the notes on the piano. You will hear aclicking sound. Zoom out and click on the lid of the piano to get door key 1.
    39. Cover the birdcage and use the bow on the violin to play a tune (you may need to use the resin on the bow A LOT. Go back to the cupboard, change violins, back to the birdcage scene and play again. Repeat until you hear a plant pot breaking.
    40. Go right once, pick up the key from the broken pot.
    41. Go left twice, put the keys in the door and you are OUT!!!!!

    @Someone – “rosin” is not a misspelling of “resin”. Rosin is made out of various resins, but the terms are not interchangeable, and in this case, “resin” would be the one that’s incorrect.

    Personally… I think everyones games are different, because the things some of you guys are saying are just NOT working in my game. I cut the carpet but only go a piece of paper. I tryed to cut the carpet more but nothing.
